Biography

Scatter The Atoms That Remain, led by drummer/composer Franklin Kiermyer and musical director Davis Whitfield, invites special guest Randy Brecker to join them on their spiritual journey of love and freedom. Kiermyer is known for his expansive style of drumming, distinct sound, and spiritual focus of his music. Davis Whitfield, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1993, has performed with Pharaoh Sanders, George Coleman, Jeff Tain Watts, Fatoumata Diawara, and Robert Glasper. Brecker, a legendary trumpeter and composer, has helped shape the sound of jazz, R&B, and rock for over four decades. Saxophonist Lawrence Clark has played and recorded with many musicians, including Norman Simmons, Winard Harper, David Bryant, Jeremy Pelt, Orrin Evans, Azar Lawrence, Tyshawn Sorey, Eric Mcpherson, David Weiss, Billy Hart, Anthony Wonsey, Reggie Workman, Babatunde Lea, Dwayne Burno, Billy Drummond, and Rashied Ali. Bassist Geraud Portal, born in Bourges, France, has a passion for John Coltrane and has performed and recorded with Jacky Terrasson, Nduduzo Makhathini, Jazzmeia Horn, Kirk Lightsey, and Scatter The Atoms That Remains.
